How blind can we be?

First off, I wanted to say I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I know I did. Second off, I was sitting in the HUB today studying for my Final, and my brain was a thinking. How blind can we actually be? How many things go on behind our back, or right in front of our face that we never see?....or do we just choose not to see them. I think the answer to that is both, we dont see them, and we choose not to see them. And, does past factors, past events that we may have experienced influence the answer to this question? I think in ways it does.

For instance, a girl coming from a low income family, having issues guys, possible abuse, wanting to escape all this pain she is enduring. What does she do? Does she keep living this way hoping something amazing comes her way, or does she try and better herself to over come this obstacle for herself, to prove to the world, her family, her abusers and mainly herself that she is worth it, that it is possible to do this? In most cases one would hope the second choice. Not only because it sounds better, but because its more empowering, it shows that with hard work, or any work at all we can make something better out of a shitty situation. Now im not saying that this is a fool proof system, that no matter how hard you try you will over come it..sometimes it just doenst work. But the important thing to do in that case is to keep trying, you have no where to go but up right?! As nice as that second choice sounds...this person took the other route..just stick around and hope something amazing flies out of no where and sweeps her off her feet and becomes her on earth angel, her rock, her shied, her hero.

She did what she does best, found an escape route. Took someone in a vulnerable state and clung to that like it was her life she was holding on to, she basically uses that person to escape that little life of hers. You would think someone in a vulnerable stage should see this, or pick up on it as it progresses and becomes more and more obvious everyday, and set things straight. After all no one likes to be taken advantage of, in any situation. But, no this person has a fear of being alone, that she will do anything in her power to keep something, or someone around to love, hold cherish, even marry. Now the girl knows about this vulnerable persons life, shes wealthy, actually very wealthy, but, unfortunately not in the best of health. This girl sees the opportunity in this. The opportunity to move out of that little podunk town she was brought into, the opportunity to get everything her little heart desires, for it to be handed to her immediately upon asking, and she sees the availability of this being given to her long after that Vulnerable person has gone this world. Why you ask? Well, because this is how blind we can be as human beings. Now this girl will sponge off of this soul, getting everything she never had and more, only to pretend to exchange love and passion. Thats okay, because with a background this girl has, I for see things ending not so beautifully. I see poor management skills only because she will do what she never had the opportunity to do, get what she never could get, and before she knows it she will be right back in the same situation.

I know this doenst make sense..but this is just an illustration to how blind we as human beings are, how we will do anything to fill the void in life, to get what we never could have or get what we desperately need. We do this sometimes without knowing it..but i think more often than not do we see that we look the other way, we become blind just to get that moment of happiness.

Early Christmas to me!

Today is going to be a great day; I'm going to make it a good day no matter what. So what if someone possibly failed a philosophy..who cares..you know why? TOMORROWWWWWWWW the greatest gift that could be given to me is arriving! My best Friend in the whole entire world is flying from Ky tomorrow to spend the week/thanksgiving with meeeeee and my family..but mainly me! Im soo excited, its tomorrow..like i've been impatiently waiting since we talked about doing this..like ohhh 3 months ago. And now, is coming..and coming fast...and shes going to be here..its almost unreal. I know i sound like a crazy person. But you dont understand, you dont understand how AMAZING Jess is! HEHHE i canttttt waiittt..and hopefully today keeps on a flying by. I have one more class at 1:00 then home to work at 3-7 then to my apt to clean.

Now pleas get this, after leaving work yesterday i had voicemail from home. So while walking back i listen to it. Its my mom. She goes Beth call you home. So i dial my house number and my mom picks up. I go hey whats up? She goes i called you becuase i want to make sure you clean your room becuase i know you are having a friend over. BAHAHAHAH dont you just love when your parent calls you while your at college to clean your room cuz you are having company over..priceless and funny. Loved it..love my mom. Which i get to see tomorrow too..were picking JEss up at the airport then heading to Altoona to do some shopping. THen home to nap cuz jess will be Unglodly tired from being up so early.Then i get to see my cousins and my puppy..i miss him.

Okay..i think i may venture to get something to sip on im thirsty.

TV Ads and Wrong Messages

So today, I didnt have my second class. I came home laid in my bed studied some notes for my mock trial, did some laundry, all while watching movies and shows on TV. Now, for those of you who dont know me I really dont watch TV all that much. I was tv mostly on Wednesdays and thats for 2 hours. To watch Law and Order SVU and Whats Eating you. Now during Football season i do watch Penn State and Steelers so thats the other block of time that i really watch tv. But today was rainy and i was in the apt all by myself so i decided to just chill be comfortable and watch tv. I soon found out why i dont normally watch that much tv. 1. Because nothing is really on. If there is something on, it doenst appeal to me or its mindless television that our society has learn to fall in love with.

Today, I saw a TV add for the Gillette Fusion PROseries. It had two scenes. One was at a Sons Graduation and it said something a long the lines of there are a lot of people there but only one Dad Show them you care, then it makes everyone in the crowd disappear except for the father of the son graduating. Then the other scene is a little girl performing in a school play and it says something along the same lines as the first, saying ...But only one Dad show them you care, and once again they make everyone in teh crowd disappear but the young girls father. Now only if i could find the link for you all i woudl have posted it but with my superb reserach skills i failed, but probably because it is their newest commercial so nothing is posted. I know the commercial seemed cute and what not, and it was in its own respective right. But for real.....what does shaving have to do with showing your child that you care? You show the biggest moments of a persons life and single out the father and say "show them you care" and its a shaving commercial...idk how that shows YOU as a father cares. "GEEE thanks dad for shaving cuz now when you hug me after my big moment you didnt scratch my face, You really care Daddy thanks" To me Gillette really missed their mark on this marketing campaign for fathers, men, young boys, to go out and buy all these products in the pro series to show their significant other, or children or whom ever that they care.

Since i couldnt find you the commercial as mentioned above, I found another one that i found equally worng, and kind of disturbing. Is called "How Often do you do it?" Heres the link please take a few moments and watch this before continuing.

Now, Idk about you, but somehow i totally forgot what the hell they were trying to sell. Yes Yes i know some people are like Well damn get your head out of the gutter. No, im sorry they marketed it to the audiences watching it on purpose. And yes i know that apparently Sex sells. But have we really came to a point in our society that sex has to sell EVERYTHING. I mean for real Shaving cream, or a razor. what next having "How long does your family like it, My kids like it really long, and they like it slick cuz they can slide down it faster...for a child Sliding board" Are we going to resort to selling children s toys or clothing for women this way with commercials like "How Tight do you like it Men, I like its really tight, it gets teh job done faster, with a commercial on shirts that are form fitting for women" Its sad that we have to make people think about sex first to sell a product, or to try and get a message across. Most of the time for me, i Forget what they are trying to sell because im sitting there thinking wtf do they need to market it this way.

Really Practice Safe Breath...yeah thats just wrong. Lets market our gum like they are condoms, and instead of using condoms when a moment gets hot and heavy, we will market our gum so our customers have fresh breath. Lets forget about safe sex, and possibly get a girl pregnant, and then that can possibly open the door for more problems. Idk i just find commercial that use sex to sell their products a little crazy, and i feel when they do it in a way where they neglect the safe things about sex its a little more wrong

I know there are other commercials i could use but i dont have the time or patience, or bandwidth on thise site to do that. But why cant companies do things like Mac. No sex necessary to sell their products, and idk about you, but i dont see apple going under anytime soon. they are a booming business who knows how to market properly. I know that every time one of their commercials come on my screen i stop what im doing because they have music, not sexual terms, or anything that can be constrewed in a sexual way. Just product music, and they are defintely making, in the words of Lil Wayne Moola Baby baby. SO companies should think again when they are trying to find that perfect commerical to get their product out, Look to compnies like Apple, cuz they seem to know what they are doing without sex. So Hats off to you Apple for being the commercial Role model in my book!

Abercrombie/Hollister WRONG

Those stores kill me. I really do not like to support those stores in any way shape or form. To me they target they type of people they want to wear their clothes, their prized logo. And those lucky people who get to do that for them are Ridiculously skinny people. Thats wrong, just horribly wrong. No wonder why so many young girls, and boys have bad self images of their self, and some of those people fall into eating disorders...which thanks to my sister Lynn i know Is a very serious and deadly thing. Hollister doesnt even sell pants bigger than a size 13, which  I may add is NORMAL. God forbid if the world couldnt look "Normal" or HEALTHY. Idk something like that just bothers me.

Our Society is really fucked up if you really think about it. In one instance we have some of the biggest people in the USA. I mean for heaven sakes we are the only country where we have people dying from too much food, instead of not enough. We have to make plus size coffins because regular coffins just dont cut it. Then on the other hand we try and to help younger children out, to have healthier lifestyles, have a positive body image. And then we have stores like Hollister and Abercrombie where a XL shirt would be a Small in NORMAL sizes. I can barely fit into their Large shirts there...and if anyone saw me or knew me you would know definitely do not wear a large. Its sad, and wrong, and I dont think its right. Its not sending the right message, espically since the clothing is aimed for such a young age group. Where pressures to look good, and be skinny are important, we just have clothings stores suggesting that the world is a better place with super skinny, and good looking people. its wrong


now that hoody that i am wearing...(Just in case you dont know which i am im the girl in the white hoody sitting next to the girl in the hat) Fits me, its not too big, its not terribly tight it fits me. LIke a good fit....now what size is that....guess..Its an XL in adults in Abercrombie...im sorry but do i look like im an extra large...i know its hard to see how i really look with me siting down so let me post another pic to show you that i dont wear and extra large.

home is a quiet place where you should be alone

Ahhh...home...home sweet home. I love coming home, its relaxing, i can neglect all responsibilities of school work, work work, and i can spend time playing wii with my cousins, having my mom wait on me hand and foot and of course cuddle with my most favorite Puppy cooper. Which i am doing as i type. I love him heheh. <3. I had a very relaxing weekend. I sat on my fat ass hours upon hours, i visited my grandma and grandpa, and i played wii. I mean who wouldnt love doing that..if you wouldnt then im sorry your on crack. The only thing really missing is the steelers play on Monday, so i dont have my usual relaxing home weekend of football. Speaking of football lets give a shout out to my second father and his team PENN STATE. Congrats JoePa on your 400th win. You are very deserving of that honor, and ur the best second best father ever. :D

But now all things must come to an end. I will be going back to the hell of a hole called State College around 2 and then start all this stupid mayhem all over again until the 19th of November. WHICH im UBERRRRRR ASS EXCITED for becuase my best friend in the whole entire world is coming for the week of Thanksgiving. Im soo excited, even though i dont really show it cuz she keeps asking me if im excited lol. But i am, im pretty sure everyone involved in my life is sick and tired of me telling them that shes coming and that im so excited and blah blah blah. But i am extremely excited :D Holy shit did anyone wake up today and be like wtf why the hell am i up at the crack of dawn, and then remember that the clocks were switched? Yeah i did. I was up at 730, wtf who does that. But im not going to lie, i was extremely well rested it was unreal. Okay now im going to chill out for the remainder of my time here in the happy world of home, and pray that the next weeks go quickly :D

Control

Control...you either have it or you dont. I need to work on it. But im assuming most everyone needs to. Its more of a trial and error session, just keeping doing something different until your satisfied, till something works for you. Its kind of hard in my opinion, finding that right amount of control where everyone is happy; including yourself. Some people lack control in every aspect of their life except in one area. Everyone is different so that one area is not going to be the same for everyone. Others have so much control over everything they do that it almost becomes a stressful and creates a lot of anxiety for that person. Some have no control over anything that they just float, and go through the motions. There really isnt a fine line between control, having it or not having it. Its so complicated if you think about it. Think about everything you have control over or that you think you have control over. Idk..maybe its just me but sometime you feel you have control over something but then you analyze it and turns out you really have very little control in that area.

As some of you know, I have sisters. I know...to those of you who thought i was that awesome only child im sorry to disappoint. I mean im still awesome..it just means that I spread my awesomeness to my sisters....i feel bad so i share. They feed of my Awesomeness. Jk..(kinda) They can be awesome in their moments as well. As mentioned, I have two sisters Carrie (25) and Emily (20), yesssss im that child stuck in the middle...with middle child syndrome. Ahhh i can all see the light bulbs turning on and everyone going...ahh that makes sense now. lol Carrie, lives in South Carolina and is attending Grad school at USC for Social work. Idk what it is, or what shes doing..but yeah thats whats shes going for. WOOT WOOT LETS GO CARRIE...and remember no matter what you Bleed Blue and White ...WE ARE.. <3. Emily is going to Penn State DuBois for HDFS I believe.

Carrie is quite a bit of a pickle..i mean shes isnt really but her roommate is the total definition of the word DICK..in EVERY SENSE of the word possible. Shes dating a guy who just got out of jail for Attempted murder, and were pretty sure he has some anger issues. Poor Carrie has to tread lightly... i mean i would to, for God sakes its a guy who got out of jail for ATTEMPTED MURDER...wtf id be shakin in my boots..but car aka lynn is a tough cookie. Its cuz of our last name..were like Fords..were Built tough, GRR! Anyway, to make a long scary story short and not so scary, the police have came to the apt because of both of these imbeciles (Killer boy, and stupid ass cunt of roommate) argue fight, and basically have domestic disputes all the time. The stupid roommate thinks Carrie called the cops and what not, but Carrie is cooler than that. Anyway, they are getting it resolved kinda, the killer boyrfriend isnt allowed on property or in their apt, so Carrie does not need to sleep with a knife under her pillow LOL (she really doesnt do this, i added this for effect) Lol. Good thing the fucker leaves in December..woot woot let the count down begin. So there you have it..my sister Carries fucked up roommate in a nutshell...so heres to you car :D

Drama NO NO NO NO Drama

Drama is dumb, uncalled for and just shows the level of immaturity a person is at. Why must one create drama, live in it everyday, and thrive on hearing it? That to me just shows how immature a person can really be. Everyone has someone in their life where they must have some sort of drama in their life, must always be talking about it, and when they talk about it they talk really loudly and look around to see if others are listening. Why do they do this? No, not only because its annoying, but they do it because they thrive on drama, they thrive on having others listen and sympathize with them. If a person does not agree with their drama view then the Drama lover will get upset and start getting irritated, because they only see things one way...THEIR way. I know Pathetic right...yes pathetic.

  If you are reading this and you feel that you know someone who is suffering from loving the attention of drama, you are not alone. Matter of fact, there are a bunch of people just like you and I who are sick of dealing with the bull shit of a Drama lover. There really is no cure for those who are addicted to drama, they only inflict anger, irritability and hate to those who have to hear this day in and day out. You may feel your alone in dealing with this, and even more upset that there is no cure, just unwanted feelings given to you, but there is some hope. Start, or join a "I HATE DRAMA GROUP" Here you can meet with people who are just like you, who hate hearing the useless drama someone MUST feel the need to share, you can share your thoughts and feelings and together you can get through this without harming yourself, or the Drama lover (ALTHOUGH Harming that person does sound like the only explanation). Just remember you are not alone, and together we can fight this Drama lover syndrome, and eventually get our sanity back from having to deal with their bull shit day in and out.
